End of the Year

Hello! This is the last time I'll be blogging in 2012. I would just like to spend this sentence to say how thankful and grateful I am for all the people who read this blog. I don't care if you've been with me since August or if you somehow landed on this blog today. You guys really cheer up a bad day or a boring winter break. It's nice knowing that people are reading what I write! I will miss 2012. I hope that everyone has a great start to the new year!

I am Not Ready to Say Goodbye

Hello! Welcome to my life. You must learn a lot of pointless things by keeping up to date with my life. Well today, I have a couple more tidbits for you! I love shoes, more than even sweaters and skirts, and cookware. Crate & Barrel is sort of one of my favorite stores, ever. I could spend an eternity looking at different frying pans and lemon squeezers. I get excited at baking pans and salt shakers. I want to live by myself (or with a roommate, lucky girl she'll be) and just indulge in all sorts of interesting cookware. I want to have an apartment in New York that looks out at the city. I love the buzzing environment of a city. I love the fact that you're never alone in a big city, even if you are technically alone sitting in the dark watching a chick flick. The lights are on, the supermarkets are open, and there is a lot to do. This summer, it was the first time I experienced night life in Korea. I have always been scared of being abducted and kidnapped so walking around at night has not been one of my hobbies. Korea is also one large bustling city, no matter where you geographically are. It was some of the most fun I've had walking around boutiques and trying on clothes and eating food. The city has a different vibe at night than it does during the daytime. Nightlife to me always meant clubbing and drunk people but that experience proved me wrong. The day after that, I watched a movie that started at 11 with the people at my church. I really did try a lot of new things this year and I'm not ready to say goodbye.

Let's Philosophize

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! It's almost Saturday! The days of the week have really lost their meaning now that I'm on winter vacation. Today I was going to go to a fancy Italian restaurant and it was almost perfect on a family outing. The restaurant opened at 5:30 and we were there by 5:38. There were already no empty tables and the lady at the front said it was about an hour and 20 minute wait since people had just sat down. In dismayed spirits, we ate Chinese food. My fortune cookie said that a pleasant surprise is in store for me soon so we'll see.

I was giving some of my relationship advice to one of my friends. It sounded just like the single and geeky person I am so I wanted to share it with all of you here. Because I am just the right person to get romantic advice from. Enjoy!

Forever Alone?

Hello! My life has been rather boring and I'm sorry for the lack of blog posts. I don't want to bore you with my incredibly boring life; but I will anyways. . . . And then I have a "sorry I didn't post on Christmas" sort of surprise. I was just not feeling the holiday spirit this Christmas. I really wanted to go to Colorado to ski and see friends but I couldn't, because I need to study. That really aggravates me but there's nothing I can do. It's not my fault that I'm not smart enough to get a 2400 on the SAT. My mom told me we could go skiing if I managed to score a 2400 on a couple practice tests. I wanted to pound my head against a wall. I'm so dying to ski. I want to play in snow, roll in snow, even fall backwards on my skis into the snow. Sighhs! So jealous of all you out there on the slopes. So here's what I wanted to do this winter break. You guys have probably seen this before, it's nothing new.

Amongst the Chaos

Hello everyone! It's Christmas Eve here and I'm possibly having the worst Christmas ever. Everyone in my family is really irritable this past week. I have no idea why. I've also had way too much food in the past few days. On the bright side, I downloaded Microsoft Word for Mac and I've missed it immensely. Pages is mediocre but I'm not sure if my connivence is worth $94. It's my Christmas present this year. Right now, we're waiting for carolers from church! As an early Christmas present, here is another chapter of Coffee Shop.

Q&A: World Traveler Edition

Hello everyone! It's officially winter break here! It's kind of daunting seeing all the work that I need to do during this time. There are only four days before Christmas and the world did not end today. I know I skipped a week but it's increasingly difficult to find questions that I haven't already answered about myself. If you have any questions you want answered, comment below! I'd be happy to answer any reasonable questions!
PS: I have no idea how to get the font like the post I made for Coffee Shop. I really want to know though.

Surprise! & Winter Break!

Hello everyone! Guess what? My super cool font might be back? Isn't that an added bonus? I figured it out! I'm using Georgia from now on. I don't think it makes much of a difference but still, I'm happy. It's my winter break starting tomorrow. I just have one short half day between me and winter break. I have 0 motivation which is BAD. I've pretty much been making Christmas cards all this time. . . So I was talking to one of my friends and there are a lot of things I want to do during winter break. My mind works best with charts and this kind of thing compared to more and more words.
Things I want to do:
1. Ice skating!
2. Watching movies at the theater
3. Eat at a fancy restaurant
4. Seeing the giant Christmas tree at Union Square, San Francisco
5. Read chick flicks
6. Watch korean dramas (School 2013 anyone?)
7. Visit an art museum!
8. Drink hot chocolate (or any of those things stated above) with someone special. Can I make it any more obvious?
9. Go on a fun trip!
10. Get a hair cut.
11. Write lots and lots of things that I don't ever have time for.
12. SKI! I'm still a Coloradan at heart. (Is that proper?)
13. See a musical.
14. Sleep.

Things I probably will do:
1.Skate on the frosted grass! That's as close to snow as it gets.
2.Eat ramen by myself.
3. Google pictures of the giant Christmas tree in Union Square and wish I was there.
4. I will read Moby Dick and finish it. Only . . . 85 chapters left!
5. I will probably watch korean dramas and movies that I never have time for by myself, bawling my eyes out. Wonderful. (this also covers the #2 of my want to do list)
6. Google art at best? I don't see that happening.
7. I will drink hot chocolate. .  with myself! Even better right? I wish I had a cat.
8. Fun trip that will consist of going to my tutor's house. YES! SAT! OMG! So excited. Even better than going to Korea for winter break.
9. I probably will get a hair cut!
10. I can see myself writing at preposterous hours because you can't put a time on inspiration and creativity.
11. Hmm... I don't see this one happening either. I will skate on the frosted grass instead.
12. Nope. Not happening.
13. Sleep? What is sleep?

Heheh. I hope you felt slightly amused. What will you do during winter break?
And now, I did work on a chapter! Long time, no Coffee Shop, but here it is! Enjoy! xx How did I get the font like this? I am so incredibly happy! How? How? How? Does anyone know?

A New Adventure

Hello friends! I started writing a new series based on a jolt of inspiration. I wish I had more time to write but fortunately enough my winter break is coming really soon! So I'll have a lot of concrete time to write then. This new series is meant to be a shorter one that I plan to cap at about 50 pages. The Coffee Shop series is facing some serious closure. I don't have motivation to write for Coffee Shop and it's not where my inspiration is at. I've moved on from the characters and new projects have simply blossomed from everywhere. I wrote a couple more pages of Lillian's solo adventure but for this Monday Memoir I want to share a new story. I would love any feedback.

The Joy of Sweaters

Hello everyone! I know I've been really MIA lately and I apologize profusely. I've been stressed and the motivation to write and blog has really decreased. I have been busy balancing school work and Christmas. Haha. I love Christmas so much but it's terrible for concentration and actual work. The period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is the worst for productivity. Christmas is a time to be festive and give and write cards. It's a time to celebrate family and friends and look forward to the new year. Oftentimes, I do need to take a step back and realize how fortunate I am.

A Whale of a Time

Hello! Long time no see! I've been busy, haha. I've been reading Moby Dick as I think I previously mentioned. It's a really great read, no sarcasm, so I recommend it! I've been writing chapter by chapter reflections that are mostly about my life. My teacher still think they're interesting and a pleasure to read so kudos to my strange stories. I've decided to share a couple :) I hope you enjoy. I liked these reflections enough to share.

Alice in Vocabland

Welcome back to another possibly dreary Monday. A math test fried my brains so we're back to vocabulary stories! These stories actually helped me ace last week's vocabulary test! I suggest it as a study tool if any of you have a hard time vocab or if your teacher makes intensely difficult vocabulary tests. There are no free points in that class. I've never seen a teacher grade everything in such a detail oriented manner. I do appreciate it though, after I'm done sobbing over lost points, because my work ethic is slowly improving as well as my writing. My work ethic hasn't increased by much though because it's 9:36 pm and I still have to write 5 darned reflections. Moby Dick really isn't bad and has a lot of wonderfully insightful quotes. I do recommend it as a leisurely read for some of the more dedicated readers out there. It isn't a chick flick or an easy skim though. . . hahah. It's up to you!

Blessed.

I am truly blessed. I may whine a lot about my first world problems but I'm so grateful for everything that I have. I have some of the best friends in this world who would do anything for me. They aren't the type of friends that sugarcoat words so that you don't feel upset. They are the friends who tell you the truth when no one else does and help you get up again. Why would a true friend lie about the little things? For instance, they say that a white lie can't hurt but would you want your friends to tell you that you look nice in a hideous hat? Wouldn't you rather look great and make a good impression?
It seems like everyone is thankful on holidays. I do try to smile on every single day but often there are times where I just don't want to smile. My church is really awesome and it's been a year and half since I first became part of the family. It's my first year doing secret santa and the atmosphere was overwhelming with love and joy. The thing I loved most about this was that everyone spent so much time and consideration with their gift. No one bought a simple gift card but rather put thought into their gifts. That's what really matters at the end of the day. My secret santa was really awesome and she knows me so well. I'm not sure how the guy I had really felt inside. I made a lovely group activity though. It's funny watching all the girls of our congregation reading all the words and looking at the pictures while the guy just really wanted a no fuss gift. Maybe I won't do this again but it was really fun making it. I believe that a gift should be something that you want to give and hopefully something that the other person wants to receive. I will be warm and toasty in the winter though :)
So write cards and brighten people's day, because a little inconvenience to you could mean the world to someone else. Why not use the holidays as a good excuse to write to people? Why not make other people smile?

Thursdays with Lillian

Hello everyone! I don't think this schedule thing is working out quite right. I will promise three blog posts a week though, two of those being Monday Memoir and a Q&A sesh. I had a four page long math assignment consisting of a myriad of problems. Needless to say, blogging was not my first priority. We started reading Moby Dick in English and it's really not that terrible. Don't feel discouraged at the bad rumors or the the length. Perhaps I'll share my own personal reflection of the first chapter in a later post. My teacher is making us write reflections/passage analyses on each and every single chapter. That's 135 pages of my thoughts. My teacher is really ambitious. I would not want to read 20-something of these each night. She assigned us two yesterday.

Anyways! You're probably looking forward to seeing how far Lillian's life has progressed since you last met her. She has her own tag now! Isn't that exciting?

Let's Learn Vocabulary

Hi. Hello. Welcome! Mondays usually mean Monday Memoirs but I just don't have the time or inspiration today to write, even just a small snippet. So instead, in the spirit of studying vocabulary, I decided to write a story based on the words from my vocabulary book. Inspiration can come from anywhere and as of now I feel enlightened by these words. This week's words are about wrongdoing and justice. For those of you who enjoy Monday Memoirs, don't worry because they will be back. I've just taken a short hiatus. This is basically a Monday Memoir just with a lot more words. For those of you wondering where Coffee Shop is, that too will eventually be posted.

Disappointment

Hello! As the title suggests, I didn't have a very successful time at the tournament yesterday. We weren't given the judges' comments so I'll be excited to see what they want me to improve upon and what I did well. I think I did well for my first ever tournament in this event. There were only five people in varsity OPP (Original Prose and Poetry) and so we heard the same speeches 3 times. I wish they did what they did for Thematic Interpretation where they combined varsity and novice so people listened to different speeches but were still given trophies based on varsity and novice. There was no final round for TI either (we didn't have enough people, I don't know why they didn't) so my friend and I watched the final round for varsity Humorous Interpretation. I'm not sure why they combined TI but not OPP. It was disappointing to leave the 7+ hour tourney without a trophy but it was a learning experience and I'm determined to return to the tourney in January and beat the guy who gave a speech about a house fire tragedy.

It's December 2nd! Tis the season for gingerbread houses, decorative lights, Christmas trees, and all sorts of different merriments. I love the holiday season for all the joy that you can tangibly feel in the air. Radio stations play holly jolly music and TV shows bring back renditions of favorite Christmas stories or original stories bringing holiday cheer. It's a time to be thankful for what you have and spend time with your friends and family, and of course the arrival of Jesus. Needless to say, it's my favorite holiday.

I am also super excited for the movie edition of Les Miserables (too lazy to type an accent) with Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Russell Crowe, and Hugh Jackman. I watched the musical and it was really fantastic. The movie is coming out on Christmas Day (25th of December) and it looks really awesome. I highly recommend it! My movie list is growing and growing and growing. I hope my school newspaper gets some early tickets for this movie because it's one I'd really love to see. We've gotten tickets to see a lot of different things early, like Twilight, The Vow, Texas Chainsaw 3D, Playing for Keeps, etc. The bad thing is that these showings are early premiere for the "press", so it's always random nights. Most are on Wednesday nights at 7:00 so it's a really bad time for us busy high school students with an overload of homework.

I found a super cool blog hosted on tumblr made up of comics! http://domics.me/
During the weekend, I also started reading Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott. It's a really relatable book told in little chunks at a time. I love how she writes and how she has that ability to transform even the most mundane of tasks into something magical.

Well, happy December! Hope you keep warm and happy in the colder weather (at least for most of us). xx
