Attack of the Pop Culture

BETTY! OMG DID YOU GUYS WATCH?
Hi everyone! I realize I haven't been posting at all lately... long story short, my life has been absolutely crazy. This is the first moment I've had to sit down and write something cohesive. I've been running around all over the place from Mock Trial competitions to debate tournaments. I have my second to last public speaking tournament and it's the most important tourney of my life! It's been hectic preparing for that and my grades are in the dumps right now... I hope to be sharing some good news with you soon! If you haven't checked my daily moments page, I am happy to share with you that I will be representing my county at Mock Trial State at the end of March! Unfortunately my school will not be joining me at Mock Trial State since I'm judged separately. I'm a little apprehensive about being with the rival school. My second college acceptance letter came in the mail and life has been okay so far. I'm really excited for this coming March.

Anyways, that's been my life. It's been all sorts of highs and lows emotionally but overall, I'm doing okay. There are always new things you learn and things you sort of regret. Everything is a lesson to be taken away for future situations. Today, I thought I'd share some musings, some of the happenings of my life, and app reviews! Remember when I said I would do those? Well it seems like you guys REALLY enjoy them so I'm going to review a couple more. Stay tuned for the Attack of the Pop Culture.

I am a Successful Landlady.

Hehe I am not good at gaming (I think we established that...) but I love kairosoft games :)) Do any of you guys play those games? This one is called Dream House Days and you have your own apartment complex. In all kairosoft games you manage some sort of institution and you try not to go bankrupt while expanding. I highly encourage them!!!! Here are some photos of my beauuuutiful complex haha.

My first resident was Anne Houser. I am really annoyed that all the husbands/wives are homemakers ... anyways she became really rich and had like 2 romantic interests..which is normal in this game. She got married and was like the only one who paid all the freaking rent. Her kid Belinda Houser is also super intelligent and became a botanist and earns 12.3 k... her daughter Belle is also really smart. It must be a Houser thing.

the map of my complex! I have expanded a lot :)

one of the coolest apartments on my complex. EXCEPT this guy won't freaking pay rent.

Just a shot of some more apartments. The girl with the ribbon is mini me!

Here is Anne's family!! Belinda moved out and got married and had Belle. Belle is also super perfect.

If you guys do play this game then you should leave your id in the comments so I can add you :)

Pish Posh!!

Hello everyone! I'm blogging live from the library right now. I realize I've been really lazy with all the cool little sections that I created during the school year. So this post stays true to its name and will be a hodgepodge of a couple different labels: Wednesday Advice, Cynical Book Review, App Reviews! Leggo! I also uploaded my first extensive tutorial so check it out :)

I am Not Ready to Say Goodbye

Hello! Welcome to my life. You must learn a lot of pointless things by keeping up to date with my life. Well today, I have a couple more tidbits for you! I love shoes, more than even sweaters and skirts, and cookware. Crate & Barrel is sort of one of my favorite stores, ever. I could spend an eternity looking at different frying pans and lemon squeezers. I get excited at baking pans and salt shakers. I want to live by myself (or with a roommate, lucky girl she'll be) and just indulge in all sorts of interesting cookware. I want to have an apartment in New York that looks out at the city. I love the buzzing environment of a city. I love the fact that you're never alone in a big city, even if you are technically alone sitting in the dark watching a chick flick. The lights are on, the supermarkets are open, and there is a lot to do. This summer, it was the first time I experienced night life in Korea. I have always been scared of being abducted and kidnapped so walking around at night has not been one of my hobbies. Korea is also one large bustling city, no matter where you geographically are. It was some of the most fun I've had walking around boutiques and trying on clothes and eating food. The city has a different vibe at night than it does during the daytime. Nightlife to me always meant clubbing and drunk people but that experience proved me wrong. The day after that, I watched a movie that started at 11 with the people at my church. I really did try a lot of new things this year and I'm not ready to say goodbye.

Disappointment

Hello! As the title suggests, I didn't have a very successful time at the tournament yesterday. We weren't given the judges' comments so I'll be excited to see what they want me to improve upon and what I did well. I think I did well for my first ever tournament in this event. There were only five people in varsity OPP (Original Prose and Poetry) and so we heard the same speeches 3 times. I wish they did what they did for Thematic Interpretation where they combined varsity and novice so people listened to different speeches but were still given trophies based on varsity and novice. There was no final round for TI either (we didn't have enough people, I don't know why they didn't) so my friend and I watched the final round for varsity Humorous Interpretation. I'm not sure why they combined TI but not OPP. It was disappointing to leave the 7+ hour tourney without a trophy but it was a learning experience and I'm determined to return to the tourney in January and beat the guy who gave a speech about a house fire tragedy.

It's December 2nd! Tis the season for gingerbread houses, decorative lights, Christmas trees, and all sorts of different merriments. I love the holiday season for all the joy that you can tangibly feel in the air. Radio stations play holly jolly music and TV shows bring back renditions of favorite Christmas stories or original stories bringing holiday cheer. It's a time to be thankful for what you have and spend time with your friends and family, and of course the arrival of Jesus. Needless to say, it's my favorite holiday.

I am also super excited for the movie edition of Les Miserables (too lazy to type an accent) with Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Russell Crowe, and Hugh Jackman. I watched the musical and it was really fantastic. The movie is coming out on Christmas Day (25th of December) and it looks really awesome. I highly recommend it! My movie list is growing and growing and growing. I hope my school newspaper gets some early tickets for this movie because it's one I'd really love to see. We've gotten tickets to see a lot of different things early, like Twilight, The Vow, Texas Chainsaw 3D, Playing for Keeps, etc. The bad thing is that these showings are early premiere for the "press", so it's always random nights. Most are on Wednesday nights at 7:00 so it's a really bad time for us busy high school students with an overload of homework.

I found a super cool blog hosted on tumblr made up of comics! http://domics.me/
During the weekend, I also started reading Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott. It's a really relatable book told in little chunks at a time. I love how she writes and how she has that ability to transform even the most mundane of tasks into something magical.

Well, happy December! Hope you keep warm and happy in the colder weather (at least for most of us). xx

Return of Coffee Shop

Hello guys! I'm back with a new chapter of Coffee Shop. Thanks for sticking with me but the end is truly near. I don't think there will be any more massive projects like this because I just don't have the time to start over with a complicated story and characters. I've just had the worst afternoon, well I guess starting from 4:30 to 4:35 pm. I just want to cry and crumple up and stay like that forever. I don't want to do math homework either..... Well enjoy a long awaited (?) chapter of Coffee Shop. xx

Reminiscing About Summer

Hello everyone :) I hope you're having a good weekend. It's 8:11 and time to wrap up one of the best weekends in a while. My friend from Denver visited and we went to Monterey and downtown San Francisco. It was such a great and hilarious reunion. We had so much fun at the beach, taking pictures (hehehe indulging in selfies) and seeing strange people. I haven't smelled that salty air for a long time, since summer. There was such an abundance in wildlife. Seagulls were loudly flying over the ocean and sea lions were "barking" on their rocks. The weather in Monterey was exceptionally nice. I had one of the best seafood pasta dinners ever in Fisherman's Wharf. Ah, it's great to just take a weekend and visit places and relax. Of course, instead of late night hot tubbing (a.k.a dipping feet in hot tub), I was solving Calculus problems like a true . . . um math nerd, I suppose. I still don't like associating myself with that term. There were a couple main highlights on the trip and here are some memories forever stored on my phone.

Some Nights.

Hi! I'm sorry that I didn't post yesterday. Yesterday I had the PSAT and my homecoming dance. I wasn't planning on going but I went just for the sake of it. I had a lot of fun getting ready for it at a friend's house but not so much at the dance. The music was really hard to dance to coughdubstepcough.  My school is also pretty awkward with just a bunch of guys freaking girls. If you went to the very front where the speakers are, you could feel ten different peoples' sweat on you and that was really really disgusting. But overall it was a fun day. Maybe I'll post pictures.

I'm Having A Meltdown

Hi guys. Blogger did something really bad this time, it deleted all my pageviews. That makes me want to cry. I would love if you guys clicked on each one a million time, just kidding! It's not that big of a deal just a huge shock. Blogger has been having some issues. I guess I should be happy that it's not all my posts. I still have all my labels and posts just not the pageviews. Sorry for the increasingly late posts.

Happy Sunday!

Hi everybody! Sunday means an app review day and as a bonus I decided to upload a new chapter of my mystery story. I thought I could do an online review of news stuff as well that went under app reviews (basically favorite youtube and song content at the moment).

Greetings from the Pear Festival

Oh my goodness. Yesterday was just one of the longest days ever. I miss the pro host who recently went off to college. He was so good at working Garage Band and recording and such. Some video people wanted to make some sort of video for our booth at the Pear Festival and it took them forever to set up a scene and get the right shots. In the time that we could've finished three shows, we barely got through 2 because of those people. Sighhhs.

Other than that, my weekend was just okay. Nothing spectacular this weekend. School is taking an emotional toll on me. But yeah, I have some app reviews for this week.

Tiny Tower
It's a really fun game that happens to be really addictive as well. Sometimes you just have to delete it, probably at one point.

Fashion Story
Also a really fun game that needs to be deleted at one point. :) I like most of the ___ Story games.

Sorry for such a short blog. xx

Equinox Weekend

I hope you guys are having a great weekend! I don't have that much time so I'll cut right to the chase. Today was such a wonderful day! The colors on the leaves are changing and it's time to pull out all the fall clothes. I love my circle scarf but I'm still looking for ways to pair summery things to get a more autumn oriented look. I have some really cool boots that I hope to wear :)

Addiction to Apps

We have established that I am a geek. Well I have a 4th generation iPod and the Samsung Infuse, which is just like the Samsung Galaxy II except for a mere rearrangement of buttons. I have a lot of access to apps and I have played all the ones that make it to the top 10 for free and paid.

My addiction at the moment is with a game called Happy Street. It's a bit like Animal Crossing because your residents are animals that speak gibberish. You have to use the 'flooze' currency to stretch out your street and all sorts of other resources. It's really fun compared to all other games of this genre.

It's really fun though and I recommend it! I think I'll do a weekly app every Sunday! I would love any recommendations for your favorite apps. I don't play any military/shooting games though. Violence is icky. I do play things like Tower Defense and that Bloons game! I love the Bloon tower defense game :)

So yes, what's your favorite app? They won't all be games for those who are pursue more useful apps.
xx
